Impulse Control

Just get out there and try it! I like to encourage my clients and teach the animal to be adaptable. The only way to make a well rounded animal is to expose them to as many experiences and learning opportunities possible.

Impulse Control

Impulse Control

A dog and a colorful parrot face each other indoors near a sliding door.

Whether it’s a dog chasing a squirrel or a horse spooking at a plastic bag, each animal will learn impulse control. We CAN’T train an animal to erase instincts. What we CAN train is how to manage those instincts.

Strong Foundation

A saddled horse with a teal halter stands in a fenced area under a clear sky.

Each animal will leave having been introduced to all the basics and goals for each tailored plan. My goal is to catch any training holes, learned behaviors or possible behavior that may be causing the issues.

Training Tools and Methods

A fluffy white dog with a leash stands outdoors at sunset.

Each animal is going to have a certain set of needs and behaviors that will determine the tools and methods used. For example, a husky walks great on a “gentle leader” because a harness to him means pull! Or a horse may be more calm and controllable without a bit, changing the method to less is more.

Offsite and group training

Sometimes it can be hard to reenact a situation without help! That’s where I come in and can help your dog or horse in a situation when other animals are needed. It can be extremely helpful for new horses to have an experienced horse alongside on a trail or in an arena. Training dogs to walk past others down the trail or road is more successful with repetitions which can be done with my own personal dogs. Along with training comes socialization!

Training the Mind

My main goal is to not only train a behavior but to train that animal to enjoy the behavior. When the horse or dog loves to do their job then they will naturally have a better mind.
